I had struggled with understanding the word of God. For years I wanted to read and understand what God has told the rest of the world through his word, which I had been missing out on. I had a passion and an unexplainable urge and just could not understand why the word of God seemed like a whole other language that I had never heard.
A couple of months ago, a missionary that our church supports in Vanuatu visited and preached a message to our congregation. He explained to us the method of learning the language of the natives on the small island. He called it submersion. “When you completely submerse yourself in the language and culture of a different ethnicity, you are forced to adapt and learn”. This message convicted me to give more to the missionaries that fight the good fight supported by our local church. And, without even realizing it, the lord began to submerse me in his word by way of an amazing radio station (91.7 fm) in the Dallas Metroplex. Daily I’ve been submersed in the way of the word and the language of God. Recently when I picked up my bible to try once again to read and comprehend God’s word I was amazed that I was suddenly able to understand. Now, of course I have a lot to learn, and I’m not an expert, but I praise the lord for helping me get the ball rolling. When I tried to piece the puzzle together to see what it was that I was doing differently to get to the place where I currently am…I remembered this message of submersion. Now I know the grace is to God, but I wanted to give thanks to you brother Webb for following Gods will and being his hand extended to bring me the message that got me where I am today. You are touching people’s lives with your messages not just in Vanuatu, but when you’re on vacation as well.
God recently spoke to my heart and told me that I needed to be baptized and submersed as Jesus was. I had questions in my mind about being baptized and every single one of them was answered one way or another although I never really asked them aloud to anyone. After about two weeks of being reminded almost daily, I spoke with our pastor (brother Snow) and told him I would like to have it done. Although it wasn’t the easiest thing for me to do, I followed God’s will and gave testimony about my situation prior to my submersion in water. I know it was giving God the grace that he deserves, but I also know in my heart that there was someone out there who needed to hear what he used me to say so that they too could be submersed in his word, love and spirit.
Thanks for your faithfulness, we’re praying for you.
Sincerely, Don Brown
