I am an atheist living in Springfield and here is my response to the Pascal’s wager. First of all, there are many religions with many hell’s so the odds are not 50/50 and since all the paths are mutually exclusive, it might be better to not pick a long shot path to heaven, angering the real god in the process, and instead when arriving at the seat of judgement of whatever god happens to be real, saying I am not like all these other hacks who pretended to believe just to avoid one hell or another, I honestly did not believe and waited for proof, here you are, so obviously you are real, and if you are any kind of being worthy of any respect at all you would reward my honest skepticism. Also, does anyone honestly believe that they could pull the wool over a god’s eyes (assuming for a moment there might actually be one) and fool the god into thinking that they actually believed. I’m pretty sure that the surprised “go away I new you not” souls are the Pascal’s wager types, so even the bible advises against it. This is really such an awful tactic, Christians should abandon it in favor of better arguments.
Please recieve this as a gesture of friendship.
