Great sermon by Pastor Craig - he used to be my youth pastor in Iowa! What impresses me is that he and his family walk the talk; you hear that through the examples he shared of his wife and daughter reaching out to the unchurched.

Thank you Pastor Jim, for 'Copy, Paste, Go. Bill is recovering slowly but doing well. (a desire of our hearts is he will be strong enough to leave for Australia on Feb. 3rd and not have to cancel our trip.)

Your first sermon of the year gave us an extra push to not always try to be so self sufficient and do all our busy stuff on our own. I remember when my praying mother used to amaze us when she took the grocery money, tithed it, bought groceries and clothed us and had extra left for our school incidentals. You reminded us God can make our time more efficient if we acknowlege Him first. Thank you, Pastor. a somewhat slowed down Marie (and Bill)

Thank you for your sermon today. It really spoke to me. I have been married to a decon/youth leader for 32 years. 28 of those years we have served very hard in the church. Our pastor continues to add programs for us to do, dispite asking him to slow down. My husband is responsive but I have been becoming bitter and resentful of my husband and pastor. Your sermon helped me to realize that Ineed to cling on to the Holy Spirit and have Him Help me to get through this difficult time. i have felt rejected by the youth taking 1st place in our life. But this sermon has helped me so much I need to cling on to Jesus more and become less irritated. Thanks so much

Hi! I have some copies of the Jesus film (PAL videotape) in the Kikongo language, for Angola. Would you like these for Mr. Spain's work? They are free. (Campus Crusade in Canada cleaned out a warehouse, and sent them to me to find homes for.) jill

Hello, I just want to say that you make building bridges sound so easy, and what you did with your daughter and son n law. Was just awesome it made my brother n law think enough to call his father who he hasn't spoke with in about 12 months and build a bridge with him.

I had struggled with understanding the word of God. For years I wanted to read and understand what God has told the rest of the world through his word, which I had been missing out on. I had a passion and an unexplainable urge and just could not understand why the word of God seemed like a whole other language that I had never heard.

A couple of months ago, a missionary that our church supports in Vanuatu visited and preached a message to our congregation. He explained to us the method of learning the language of the natives on the small island. He called it submersion. “When you completely submerse yourself in the language and culture of a different ethnicity, you are forced to adapt and learn”. This message convicted me to give more to the missionaries that fight the good fight supported by our local church. And, without even realizing it, the lord began to submerse me in his word by way of an amazing radio station (91.7 fm) in the Dallas Metroplex. Daily I’ve been submersed in the way of the word and the language of God. Recently when I picked up my bible to try once again to read and comprehend God’s word I was amazed that I was suddenly able to understand. Now, of course I have a lot to learn, and I’m not an expert, but I praise the lord for helping me get the ball rolling. When I tried to piece the puzzle together to see what it was that I was doing differently to get to the place where I currently am...I remembered this message of submersion. Now I know the grace is to God, but I wanted to give thanks to you brother Webb for following Gods will and being his hand extended to bring me the message that got me where I am today. You are touching people’s lives with your messages not just in Vanuatu, but when you’re on vacation as well.

God recently spoke to my heart and told me that I needed to be baptized and submersed as Jesus was. I had questions in my mind about being baptized and every single one of them was answered one way or another although I never really asked them aloud to anyone. After about two weeks of being reminded almost daily, I spoke with our pastor (brother Snow) and told him I would like to have it done. Although it wasn’t the easiest thing for me to do, I followed God’s will and gave testimony about my situation prior to my submersion in water. I know it was giving God the grace that he deserves, but I also know in my heart that there was someone out there who needed to hear what he used me to say so that they too could be submersed in his word, love and spirit.

Thanks for your faithfulness, we’re praying for you.

Sincerely,
Don Brown

Pastor Jim Bradford,

I been struggling all week with a decision to take a job that I was offered on Monday of this week. I've just finished listening to your sermon, "Worth the Pain" as was linked to Amy Maxwell's webpage, Gentle Whisper http://www.gentlewhisper.com/blog/

It's a job as a counselor/assistant at a Christian Pregnancy center in Tulsa, OK. http://www.mendpregnancy.org/index.html

Moving to this job will cost me a great deal... and yet while I long to do it, I hesitate at the same time.

Your sermon laid my hesitation to rest and I'm ready to accept the job tomorrow. Your faithfulness to the Lord is part of that which leads me and I thank you for that. May the unborn, yet unformed, be grateful to you also, for the influence you've extended from Christ to me, and then to them.

Thank you for your timely message that settled this matter for me. May the Lord be honored in my choice and may you be blessed for your willingness to serve Him and share with me.

Blessings, Judy Gifford, Broken Arrow, OK

This is a must hear about the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Biblical look at the missional aspect of Pentecost.
Some favorite quotes:
"God connects sending us with the stuff we do.
God connects empowerment with the mission.
All are included in God's mission.
The power of God is for outside the Church walls
Tongues connects power with mission."

We missed Sunday but heard it was great. Just listened online (what a blessing) and wanted to say thanks! It's everything we believe and need to be reminded of...taking risks in ministry...giving away...focus on the unreached...we don't exist for us...putting the pressure on God for the results...getting used to the mystery, the enigma...asking God's Spirit to lead. So good. Thanks, Pastor Bradford. We appreciate you!

Pastor Bradford was the pastor at Newport-Mesa Christian Center in Costa Mesa from 1988 to 2000. He came to Central Assembly in 2003. This site is managed by the technical staff at the Central; we try to respond promptly to questions, but we won't be too much help with who Pastor Jim is related to. Glad you like the site!

This is a sad message, Craig has come up with such a great way to get the the gospel into places it is not. I love what they are doing with the bibles to get them into the hands of the lost, I just wish the gospel Craig Gross presents was more biblical and less of "Jesus is better than porn" Jusus' Gospel is so much more glorious than that. God has saved us from eternal hell! through the blood of Christ. Keep passing out new testaments. We do not need to be ashamed to give them the whole truth "unless you repent you will perish" The Biblical Gospel is always Repentance and Faith. I love Craigs sincerity though!
Blessings

I’m enjoying Pastor Bradford’s overview of Revelation. Revelation must be difficult for a pastor to teach since so many interpretations have been offered. In the early and mid 20th century, a pastor could invite his people to follow along in their Scofield Reference Bibles since this was such the popular and dominant interpretation. But in the last 20 years or so, the Scofield System of Bible interpretation has not been recommended by Christian colleges and seminaries. Pastor Bradford has demonstrated gentle wisdom in his approach by saying, “The details are difficult but the message is unmistakable”. He pays tribute some the elements of the Scofield system yet is preaching the benefits of a careful approach to symbolic interpretation . The result is that the powerful symbols in Revelation can have rich spiritual application to any reader or hearer of any age; from John’s original first century audience to those who live to see Christ’s return. Bradford recognizes the apocalyptic and visionary style of communication used in Revelation and wisely cautions us interpret it symbolically rather than using the “literal if possible” method which created so much sensationalism in the 20th century.
